Dandelions are often seen as a weed to most people, but they are
actually a healing herb. Dandelions have lots of health benefits. But to
receive those benefits it's better to consume organic dandelions rather
than conventional because you don't want any pesticides, herbicides, or
chemicals in the body. My favorite place to buy freshly picked organic
dandelion greens is the farmers market. If you don't have a farmers
market that sells organic dandelion greens try a local health foods
store, Whole Foods, or a grocery store that sells produce (they may sell
dandelion greens, just ask). Dandelion greens are quite bitter so I
currently like to just put them in my smoothies & juices rather than
salads. If you can't get your hands on dandelion greens you can get
dandelion tea from almost any grocery store. Dandelion tea is one of my favorite teas! There are so many brands
from Traditional Medicinals to Yogi to Alvita to NOW Real Tea that have
dandelion in their teas. A lot of detox teas have dandelion in them
because it cleanses the liver. When one overeats or eats processed foods
or fried foods, one is exposed to environmental pollutants & the
liver becomes overworked & overloaded. But alkalizing the body with
dandelion greens can help clean up the liver. Studies done in Russia prove that dandelion is rich in cobalt, zinc, boron, & molybdenum, as well as Vitamin D.
I
used to think dandelions were an ugly weed in the backyard, but I have learned & grown to appreciate the beauty of dandelions & it's
health benefits.

Sorsha
