Your Diet is Boring

When you Google the definition of diet, two completely different definitions come up.
I. the kinds of food that a person, animal, or community habitually eats.
II. a special course of food to which one restricts oneself, either to lose weight or for medical reasons.
I believe that the only definition for the word diet should be the first one. In nature humans are the only species to count & restrict calories. Isn't there something wrong with that? When restricting calories, you're body is deprived of nutrients & minerals resulting in physical & mental issues. Our bodies are designed to tell us when it needs fuel, therefore we should not distract or suppress our hunger we should address our hunger with organic fruits & vegetables. When your body is starving everything tastes amazing at first because your body is in panic mode. When we are hungry & eat a meal of organic fruit it tastes so good in the beginning & it slowly is less appetizing because our body is telling us it is no longer hungry & it's time to stop eating. Unlike junk food covered in addictive stimulants to make you want/buy more. With the junk food you eat & eat & eat until all of a sudden you're so full you can barely walk.
You'll loose weight restricting calories because your body is eating itself. But once you eat the normal amount of calories your body is asking for, you will gain weight because your body was deprived all that time & needs to make up & heal for the deficiencies. By restricting calories you're teaching your body to become a fat storer not a fat burner. Read The Great Starvation Experiment: Ancel Keys and the Men Who Starved for Science if you truly believe that starvation & restricting your calories is the key.
Most all people are eating the wrong foods; foods that the human body wasn't designed for which results in weight gain, poor digestion, congested skin, disease, illness, depression, body odor, low energy, ext. The human body was designed to consume organic fruits, vegetables, nuts, & seeds (aka a plant-based vegan diet). The human body was NOT designed to consume meat, dairy, eggs, & whatever else the USDA tries to shove down our throats. Every animal living in the wild is lean because they are eating the diet that their body is designed for. I've never seen an obese shark, polar bear, or ape. So when humans eat the diet they are not designed for which are chips, steak, boiled eggs, soda, fried chicken, animal milk, ext. they gain weight & cause problems to their body. You'll see a chipmunk in the city that is fat & sick munching on a cheeto that they found on the sidewalk. But then you'll see a lean & healthy chipmunk resigning no where near civilization eating seeds, nuts, & fruits (which is the diet that they are designed to eat). So if humans eat the diet they are meant to eat (plant-based vegan diet) they will be lean, have lots of energy, free of illness, free of disease, smell good, have clear skin, ext. But why aren't people eating their natural human diet? Because they are brainwashed into thinking that meat gives us protein(but no one's ever died from a 'protein deficiency' & the medical industry doesn't even have a proper medical term for protein deficiency!), milk gives us calcium which we need for strong & healthy bones(milk actually causes osteoporosis aka weak bones), only 100 calories(but full of junk!), ext. What is this teaching us? It's teaching us that by consuming these things we will be healthy & by only eating 100 calories for a meal we will be slim. A calorie is not just a calorie. They aren't equal at all, they digest differently & are utilized differently in the body. For example, 2,000 calories worth of big macs vs 2,000 calories worth of organic oranges. What would be better, healthier, & won't cause weight gain? The organic oranges.
Therefore a calorie is not just a calories, it is much more than that.
Don't let your diet be boring & sad(standard American diet),
have a happy diet full of organic fruits & vegetables!

Sorsha

Dan·de·li·on

Dandelions are often seen as a weed to most people, but they are actually a healing herb. Dandelions have lots of health benefits. But to receive those benefits it's better to consume organic dandelions rather than conventional because you don't want any pesticides, herbicides, or chemicals in the body. My favorite place to buy freshly picked organic dandelion greens is the farmers market. If you don't have a farmers market that sells organic dandelion greens try a local health foods store, Whole Foods, or a grocery store that sells produce (they may sell dandelion greens, just ask). Dandelion greens are quite bitter so I currently like to just put them in my smoothies & juices rather than salads. If you can't get your hands on dandelion greens you can get dandelion tea from almost any grocery store. Dandelion tea is one of my favorite teas! There are so many brands from Traditional Medicinals to Yogi to Alvita to NOW Real Tea that have dandelion in their teas. A lot of detox teas have dandelion in them because it cleanses the liver. When one overeats or eats processed foods or fried foods, one is exposed to environmental pollutants & the liver becomes overworked & overloaded. But alkalizing the body with dandelion greens can help clean up the liver. Studies done in Russia prove that dandelion is rich in cobalt, zinc, boron, & molybdenum, as well as Vitamin D.
I used to think dandelions were an ugly weed in the backyard, but I have learned & grown to appreciate the beauty of dandelions & it's health benefits.

W I L D F O X treasures

Last weekend it was a rare rainy & cloudy day in LA which is my only favorite LA weather. Anyway I finally got the chance of going to a Wildfox sample sale after craving to go for a couple of years. I was there for about 5 hours digging my soul away finding treasures. I ended up with a pile, almost the size of Mount Everest of stuff. Narrowing it down to these gems. Kitties, swans, (vegan) pizza, cuss words in French, & roses.

Yours truly,
Sorsha

Note to self: don't wear a Wildfox poncho with long fringe that gets in the way to a sample sale.

Inspirations 12 / 6 / 13

I'm drinking organic jasmine green tea (that I got on sale at one of my favorite health foods stores) while being inspired by all the wonderful things online. I am now craving this brilliant teapot. I don't have many friends, nor do I ever have company, but this teapot will make me 5 cups of tea just for me! Even if you never have anyone over for tea, you can enjoy this brilliant teapot idea. Kate Moss' Playboy shoot is to die for! It's everything. All you need is the Kate Moss Playboy issue & some raw vegan strawberry cheesecake & a cup of tea... or 5 cups with your new teapot! I want to go to a flea market & just find this dream book for a $1. Ballet, that is all. Oversized (they could be a bit bigger) jewels. I wanna go on a hunt for oversized jewels now! Wouldn't it be amazing to take the day off, make friends with a lion & even relax with him? Maybe the lion could help me hunt for my jewels!

Sorsha

B-A-N-A-N-A-S

My main food source are bananas. I eat up to 30 bananas a day. Which a lot of people think is absurd, but being a raw vegan it is possibly the most versatile fruits out there. Even if you don't like bananas after reading this, you’ll never look at a banana in the same way again.

Bananas contain three natural sugars 1. sucrose, 2. fructose & 3. glucose combined with fiber. A banana gives an instant, sustained & substantial boost of energy.

Research has proven that simply two bananas provide enough energy for a strenuous 90-minute workout.

It can also help overcome or prevent a substantial number of illnesses and conditions, making it a must to add to our daily diet.

DEPRESSION: According to a recent survey undertaken by MIND amongst people suffering from depression, many felt much better after eating a banana. This is because bananas contain tryptophan, a type of protein that the body converts into serotonin, known to make you relax, improve your mood and generally make you feel happier.

PMS: Forget the pills, eat a banana. The vitamin B6 it contains regulates blood glucose levels, which can affect your mood.

ANEMIA: High in iron, bananas can stimulate the production of hemoglobin in the blood and so helps in cases of anemia.

BLOOD PRESSURE: This unique tropical fruit is extremely high in potassium yet low in salt, making it perfect to beat blood pressure.

BRAIN POWER: 200 students at a Twickenham school (England) were helped through their exams this year by eating bananas at breakfast, break, & lunch in a bid to boost their brain power. Research has shown that the potassium-packed fruit can assist learning by making pupils more alert.

CONSTIPATION: High in fiber, including bananas in the diet can help restore normal bowel action, helping to overcome the problem without resorting to laxatives.

HANGOVERS: One of the quickest ways of curing a hangover is to make a banana milkshake. Blend some ripe bananas(ripe when spotted) with filtered water. The banana calms the stomach, while the water soothes & re-hydrates your system.

HEARTBURN: Bananas have a natural antacid effect in the body, so if you suffer from heartburn, try eating a banana for soothing relief.

MORNING SICKNESS: Snacking on bananas between meals helps to keep blood sugar levels up and avoid morning sickness.

MOSQUITO BITES: Before reaching for the insect bite cream, try rubbing the affected area with the inside of a banana skin. Many people find it amazingly successful at reducing swelling & irritation.

NERVES: Bananas are high in B vitamins that help calm the nervous system.
Studies at the Institute of Psychology in Austria found pressure at work leads to gorging on comfort food like chocolate & chips. Looking at 5,000 hospital patients, researchers found the most obese were more likely to be in high-pressure jobs. The report concluded that, to avoid panic-induced food cravings, we need to control our blood sugar levels by snacking on high carbohydrate foods every two hours to keep levels steady.

ULCERS: The banana is used as the dietary food against intestinal disorders because of its soft texture & smoothness. It is the only raw fruit that can be eaten without distress in over-chronicler cases. It also neutralizes over-acidity & reduces irritation by coating the lining of the stomach.

TEMPERATURE CONTROL: Many other cultures see bananas as a ‘cooling’ fruit that can lower both the physical and emotional temperature of expectant mothers. In Thailand, for example, pregnant women eat bananas to ensure their baby is born with a cool temperature.

A banana really is a natural remedy for many ills. When you compare it to an apple, it has FOUR TIMES the protein, TWICE the carbohydrates, THREE TIMES the phosphorus, five times the vitamin A & iron, and twice the other vitamins and minerals.. It is also rich in potassium & is one of the best value foods around.

So, eat a banana or two, or 5 or 10...

Yours truly,
Sorsha
